My Dad was a semi-truck driver. 🚛
He was not home as often as I wanted as a child.

🌬 I was cold and bitter toward him… ❄️

I remember going camping alone with my friends and their fathers.

As I grew into adulthood, I mistook those bitter stories as facts.

For years I rejected his offer for help and love. 💔
He wanted to be part of my life, my family’s life.

He wanted to come to my children’s activities.

🙅🏼‍♂️ I simply did not want him there! 🤚🏻

It wasn’t until 2012 that I was humbled enough to challenge that story.
It was then that I realized that I was my own #1 Asset!

Not just Financially, but also:

✅ Spiritually
✅ Emotionally
✅ Mentally
✅ Physically

I wanted to see what kind of relationship I could build with him.

I began to text message him daily in January 2014.

Less than two months later on the 3rd week of February 2014, I had a distinct impression to call my dad and invite him to my office.

The impression was so strong that it could not be avoided…

I called and my father eagerly accepted the invitation to come to my office.

He was so proud of me…

At the end of our visit, I put my hand on his heart and said,
“Dad I love you.”

The following Saturday, my father had a heart attack and died alone in his home. 🏡

People are assets, things are not!

THINGS ARE NOT TRUE ASSETS!!!

I would not trade those two months for any amount of cash!
